Agatha Mat

(New York, 1971)

MOTHER. I am the mother of twin boys four years, whom I dedicate half of my days. Like all children born to those who have difficulty conceiving of a "traditional" children were very desirable. And I share, with other families who have had multiple birth, the good and less good to deal with both at once.

Our children have a mom and a mom, and begin to know what it means. Little by little we'll find out.

JOURNALIST. Working as a reporter in the news services of Television de Catalunya , the Catalan public television. From the section of society and territory, treatment LGBT issues, and more recently new technologies.

ACTIVIST. Premiered adulthood with a card of the Gay Lesbian Coordinator in Lesbos Group (now defunct), and visits to the bar Member's and Daniel's. My coming out was abroad at the University of Berkeley in 1991, after the Gay Parade in San Francisco. A year later, at the University of Reading discovered the group of gay and lesbian students, something unthinkable at that time in my Spanish university.

Des in 2001 was part of the Association of Families Lesbianes i Gais .

In 2002 I was the first woman member of the Club Esportiu Panteres Grogues , the first LGBT club in Spain, where I sat in the section where the macho cycling and welcomed me very well. Later, other women joined the club and created several sections female team sports. For two years coordinated the cycling section and I dealt with the issues of press club. I was lucky enough to live the years of consolidation of the Club and to collaborate with a large team of volunteers and the best leaders I have met.

I joined the Organizing Committee for the Eurogames Barcelona 2008 , as head of Press and Communication. And we get to 5000 athletes bring gays and lesbians from across Europe to compete in Barcelona.

From then on, my activism work at night on this blog, where the children sleep.
